About Me

I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at Northeastern University, bringing a unique background shaped by over seven years of experience as a Registered Nurse. I worked in fast-paced, high-pressure environments that demanded strong critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, teamwork, and clear communication.

During my nursing career, I relied on many tools and technologies every day—some that made my work significantly easier, and others that made it harder. That contrast sparked my interest in building software that is efficient, intuitive, and genuinely improves people's lives. I've always been both creative and analytical, curious about how things work and how they can be made better, which ultimately led me to transition into software engineering.

I'm excited to put my skills to use and continue gaining hands-on experience in the field. Outside of school and work, you'll usually find me cooking, reading, exploring new restaurants, ice skating, bouldering, watching thriller/sci-fi films, or travelling.

Projects

Game Analytics Web App

MySQL, Docker, Python, SQL, Data Visualization

Designed and developed a database-driven web application to manage and analyze online chess player data using dynamic SQL queries, interactive dashboards, and performance insights.

Fashion Image Classification Using CNNs

Python, TensorFlow, Convolutional Neural Networks

Implemented and fine-tuned CNN architectures (ResNet18, EfficientNetB0) using transfer learning to classify fashion images across multiple categories with high accuracy. Analyzed performance across model architectures and dataset scales to identify trade-offs between accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in real-world e-commerce use cases.

Building Elevator Simulation

Java, OOP, Data Structures, Algorithm Design

Developed a real-time elevator control simulation in Java to model multi-floor building traffic and optimize elevator scheduling efficiency. Implemented OOP-based architecture for modularity and scalability, incorporating state management, event handling, and dynamic queue updates.

Washroom Finder App

Figma, Heuristic Evaluation, User Research

Designed and prototyped a mobile app in Figma to help users locate accessible public washrooms, focusing on intuitive navigation and user-centric interface design. Conducted heuristic evaluations and user testing to identify usability issues and iterated the design based on feedback and behavioral insights.
